Adventures of Linux Userspace at Meta

Audience:

The Linux Userspace team at Meta aims to make significant contributions to upstream userspace projects, while also ensuring that Meta is able to leverage those improvements. In this talk we'll give an overview of the team and brief history of how it was formalized. Then we'll dive deeper into some of the efforts we've worked on with the open source community and features we've adopted internally.

This talk will be more breadth than depth, covering a range of topics that the team works on. It will start with an overview of the team and Meta's fleet. Followed by notable contributions to systemd, CentOS, and Fedora. Then it will close with some new initiatives we're working on in BPF. The expectation is that you will hear about a bunch of Linux projects and use the material in the slides as a reference to dive deeper into topics of interest.
